Island Style Banana Nut Bread

1 3/4 cup flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

2/3 cup sugar

1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened

2 eggs

1 cup mashed bananas (2-3 medium)

1/2 cup coarsely chopped macadamia nuts

Preheat oven to 350 F.

Grease and flour a 8 1/2 X 4 1/2 X 2 1/2 inch loaf pan. Sift together

flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In a medium bowl,

combine sugar and butter; beat until creamy. Add eggs one at a

time, beating well after each addition. Add flour mixture alternately

with bananas, a small amount at a time, ending with flour. Beat

after each addition until smooth. Stir in nuts. Pour into prepared

pan and bake for 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Remove from pan immediately and cool on a wire rack.
