Five Hour Beef Stew

2 lbs. cubed stew beef

6 carrots, cut in pieces

4 onions, quartered

1 cup celery, in pieces

4 potatoes, quartered

1 large can tomatoes

3 Tbls. minute tapioca

1 Tbls. sugar

1 Tbls. salt

1 teas. thyme

Mix everything together, including raw meat. Place in large

casserole, cover, and cook in 250 degree oven for 5 hours. Do not

take the lid off until done. Veggies should be left in good sized

pieces.
