Mole Chili (aka Cincinnati Chili)

1 lb black beans, soaked overnight and drained

5 cups water

2 onions, diced

6 oz can tomato paste

2 T vinegar

2 t Worcestershire sauce

1/2 oz unsweetened chocolate

4 garlic cloves, minced

1 bay leaf

4 T chili powder

1 t cinnamon

1 t cumin

1/2 t allspice

1/2 t cloves

1/2 t red pepper flakes

salt and pepper to taste

Add beans to water in 4 quart pot. Cook until soft. Add all other

ingredients; stir to blend. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer

uncovered about 3 hours. For last hour the pot may be covered if

you want it thicker. Serve topped with cheddar cheese and chopped

onions and some cornbread on the side.
