Aunt Anna's Butter Cookies
1/2 Cup butter4 Tablespoons shortening
1/2 Cup Confectioner's Sugar
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 egg yolk
2 Cups flour
1/2 Teaspoon salt

Bake at 325 for 25 min. Cream butter with shortening & sugar beat until
fluffy. Add vanilla, lemon juice and egg yolk beating until well
blended. Sift flour and salt adding gradually to the creamed mixture.
Beat until smooth. With hand shape into small balls (3/4") flatten
slightly and make indentation in center and place 1/2 teaspoon of jam in
indentation. Bake until slightly brown.
