GAJAR HALWA
This is one of India's most delicious(Carrot Dessert) and nutricious desserts.

Water
1 can (14-ozs) Sweetened Condensed
Milk (not evaporated)
2 c grated carrots
1 c cooking oil, butter or margarine
2 T chopped blanched almonds
2 T chopped raisins
1/4 t ground saffron
1 T fresh lime juice, heated
Add 1 can of water to condensed milk and bring to a boil.
Add carrots and cook over low heat for 45 minutes, stirring
occasionally.
Add oil gradually. Cook until fat begins to separate.
Then add almonds and raisins, and the saffron dissolved in
lime juice.
May be eaten hot or cold.
Makes 6 servings.
