DUMPLINGS WITH DILL GRAVY
1 cup flour2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 cup milk
2 eggs
4 slices toast, buttered, cut into fine squares
1 large kettle or saucepan
water
Mix in order given. Mold into two large dumplings. Let stand a few
minutes before boiling. Make sure Kettle full of water is boiling
before adding dumplings. Boil 30-35 minutes, covered (don't take
the cover off until done) Remove with slotted spoon onto platter.
With heavy thread or knife, cut into slices.
Dill Gravy
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper or more to taste
1/2 - 3/4 cup beef broth or 1 beef bouillon cube
1 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped or more to taste
1/2 cup sour cream
Melt butter in skillet over low heat. Add flour, salt and pepper,
mix until flour is lightly browned. Remove skillet from heat,
gradually add beef broth or bouillon cube and dill. Return to stove.
Bring to boil, Stirring constantly. cook 1-2 minutes longer. remove
from heat. Add sour cream stirring constantly.
