Title: Baked Apples 11

BAKED APPLES

Yield: 4 servings

4 Granny Smith apples

1 1/4 ts powdered Cinnamon

1/2 ts allspice

1/8 ts nutmeg

1/2 c brown sugar

3 T butter, softened

1/2 T lemon juice

3/4 c sultanas

1/4 c pitted prunes

3/4 c chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 400 F. Butter a deep baking dish that has a lid.

Core the apples but do not peel them. Arrange them in the dish.

Cut apples to fit, if necessary. Combine all remaining ingredients

in bowl. Mix well (this is where grating the butter comes in handy).

Stuff this mixture into the holes and spaces in and between the

apples.

Bake covered at 400 F. for about 30 minutes. Serve hot as a side

dish, or with vanilla ice cream (spoon extra sauce over the ice

cream).
