Asparagus with Vegetable Medley

6 medium-size green onions, sliced thin (3/4 cup)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 teaspoon dried basil, crumbled

1/4 teaspoon oregano leaves, crumbled

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

24 medium-size fresh asparagus (about a pound), trimmed

3 medium-size ripe tomatoes (about a pound), quartered

2 tablespoons water

Mix green onions, Parmesan cheese, basil, oregano, and garlic powder

in a small bowl until blended. On a 10- to 12-inch round microwave-safe

serving plate, arrange asparagus spoke-fashion with stem ends toward

edge of plate and tips overlapping in center. Place tomato quarters

in a circular pattern 2 inches from edge of plate. Sprinkle

vegetables with water, then the green onion mixture. Cover with

vented plastic wrap.

Microwave on high 5 to 7 minutes, rotating dish 1/2 turn once,

until vegetables are hot. Let stand covered 3 to 5 minutes until

crisp-tender. Tilt plate and drain off liquid through vent opening.
