Caramel Corn

1 cup unpopped popcorn (two runs through normal hot-air poppers)

1 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup corn syrup

1 stick butter

salt

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

You must have a hot-air popcorn popper, paper grocery bags, and a

microwave. No other kind of popcorn popper will work, I don't know

why. Also I recommend glass bowls.

Put butter, sugar, and corn syrup in glass dish. Microwave on high

four minutes, stir until butter is completely melted. Stir in salt

and baking soda, mixture will bubble a bit. Meanwhile, pop the

popcorn into a double-bagged paper grocery bag. Pour the caramel

mixture over the popcorn in the bag, make sure to scrape the bowl.

Close the bag tightly and shake really well to coat all the popcorn.

Put the whole bag back in the microwave and cook for 2 minutes

more.
