Math Cooking
Stables Pie1/2 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
pinch of salt
2 eggs
1 block Hershey's unsweetened chocolate
1 stick of butter
Preheat oven to 350F.
Melt butter and chocolate and set aside.
Beat sugar and eggs together. Add the flour, vanilla, and the pinch of
salt.
Add the melted butter and chocolate to the rest of the ingredients and
mix well. Pour into 8 inch greased pie plate. Bake for 20 minutes.
Can be topped with pecans and ice cream.
7 layer Cookie Bars
1/2 cup margarine
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 can condensed milk
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 1/2 cups grated coconut
Melt margarine.
Place in a 9 x 13 cake pan.
Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs on top of butter.
Evenly pour condensed milk on top of the crumbs.
Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
Sprinkle butterscotch chips on next.
Top with grated coconut evenly.
Bake in oven for 25 minutes at 350F.
Cornbread
1/2 cup of sugar
2 pinches of salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 eggs
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup corn meal
1 cup flour
Mix sugar, salt, baking powder, corn meal and flour.
Add butter, egg and enough milk to make thin but not runny batter.
Put in square greased pan.
Bake in 350F oven for 20 minutes.
Haystacks
1 cup corn syrup
1 cup sugar
2 cups chunky peanut butter
5 1/2 cups cornflakes
Boil sugar and syrup together.
Add peanut butter.
Stir into cornflakes crushed up in a bowl.
Dip out by teaspoon on cookie sheet.
Let stand 10 minutes before eating.
Makes: A lot.
Oven Caramel Corn
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups brown sugar
2 sticks margarine
1 1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon salt
7 1/2 quarts popped corn
Combine in saucepan brown sugar, margarine, corn syrup and salt. Cook
5 minutes. Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon soda.
Pour over popcorn and mix. Put on cookie sheet and put in 200F oven for
1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes.
Nestle Toll House Cookies
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375F. In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and
salt; set aside. In large mixing bowl, combine butter, sugar, brown
sugar and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add
flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded measuring
tablepoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 9 - 11 minutes.
Makes abut 5 dozen cookies.
Oatmeal Scotchies
1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cup quick or old fashioened oats, uncooked
1 12 oz package butterscotch chips
Preheat oven to 375F. In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt
and cinnamon; set aside.
In large mixer bowl, beat butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla
until creamy. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in oats and
butterscotch chips. Drop by measuring tablespoonfuls onto ungreased
cookie sheets.
Bake 7-8 minutes for chewier cookies.
Bake 9-10 minutes for crisper cookies.
Makes 4 dozen cookies.
M & M Chocolate Chip Pan Cookies
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 teasoon vanilla
1 3/4 cup M&M's
Preheat oven to 375F. In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt;
set aside. In large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugars until
light and fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in flour mixture.
Stir in M&M's. Spread into lightly greased 15 1/2" x 10 1/2" x 1" jelly
roll pan. Bake at 375F for 18-22 minutes. Cool completely before cutting
into 35 2-inch squares.
Puppy Chow
6 cups Crispix cereal
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup margarine
12 oz chocolate chips
2 cups powdered sugar
Melt peanut butter, margarine and chocolate chips together in the microwave
or on the stove.
Put powdered sugar in a paper sack.
Put cereal mixture in and shake until well coated.
Cheesy Pizza Mix
8 cups Crispix cereal
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon dry spaghetti sauce mix
2 teasoon garlic powder
4 cups pretzel nuggets
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
Combine parmesan cheese, spaghetti sauce mix, and garlic powder. Set aside.
In a bag, comvine Crispix cereal and pretzel nuggets.
Pour oil over cereal mixture. Close bag and gently toss cereal mixture
until well coated.
Add parmesan chese mixture and close bag.
Gently toss cereal mixture until well coated.
