Low-Fat Chocolate Meringue Pie

9" Deep Dish Reduced Fat Redi Pie Crust

1 large package instant chocolate pudding mix

2 1/2 cups skim milk

6 egg whites

1 Tablespoon cream of tartar

6 Tablespoons sugar

Preheat oven to 350: F. Bake pie crust according to package directions

and cool completely. In medium bowl, mix milk and pudding mix until

smooth. Pour into pie crust; set aside. Turn oven to broil. In

large glass bowl; combine egg whites and cream of tartar. With

electric mixer on high speed, beat until whites begin to pull away

from sides of bowl. Add sugar gradually and continue to beat until

whites are very stiff. Spoon onto pie. Place under broiler until

meringue is golden brown. (Watch constantly to prevent burning).

Makes 8 slices.
